Adding Your API Keys

Vid Optimus does not charge you for AI generation — you bring your own account with each provider, and Vid Optimus talks to it directly using a key only you hold.

Where keys are stored

Settings → Keys, encrypted in your system's own secure keychain (Windows Credential Manager or the macOS Keychain). They are never uploaded anywhere, including to us.

What needs a key, and what does not

• No key required: the built-in free neural voice, and stock photo/video search.
• Needs a key: script/shot planning (Groq or OpenAI), AI image generation (any of Runware, Replicate, Together AI, Modal or AI33), and any premium voice engine you choose to connect.

Getting a key

Each provider issues its own API key from its own dashboard — there is nothing Vid Optimus-specific about the key itself. Paste it into the matching field in Settings → Keys and it is validated the next time that provider is used.

Removing a key

Clear the field and save. The provider simply will not be offered as an option until a key is added again.
