Do I need to buy credits or pay per video?
No. Vid Optimus has no credits. You connect your own API keys for the AI providers you want to use. The built-in voice and stock photos and videos are free, with no key needed. Your licence is one flat price with unlimited videos.
Does Vid Optimus write my script?
No. You bring the script. AI Director plans the shots and visuals around your words, and your narration is never rewritten.
Does it work on Mac, or only on Windows?
Both. There is a download for Windows 10/11 and a separate download for macOS.
How many computers can I use my licence on?
One at a time. To switch computers, deactivate the old one from your dashboard and activate the new one. You can do this any time.
Can I keep a character looking the same across the whole video?
Yes. Turn on the consistent characters switch on the Visuals screen, and a recurring character keeps the same face in every shot they appear in.
How accurate are the captions?
Captions are matched word for word to your script, not to raw speech-to-text. So they stay correct even if the transcription mishears a word.
What video formats can I export?
A frame-accurate MP4, in 9:16 (vertical, for Shorts and Reels) or 16:9 (horizontal, for YouTube), from the same project.
Is there a limit on script length?
Only during the free trial, which allows up to 5,000 characters per video. Paid plans have no script length limit.
What happens when the free trial ends?
The trial gives you 7 days, up to 3 videos a day, scripts up to 5,000 characters and no watermark. When it ends, the app locks until you activate a licence. There is no free plan after the trial.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. AI images, stock search, voiceover and transcription all use online providers, and your licence is checked online. The final video is rendered on your own computer.
What are the system requirements?
Windows 10/11 or macOS, plus disk space for your projects (you can pick any drive). You don't need a GPU. Vid Optimus finds the fastest video encoder on your computer and falls back to your CPU if there isn't one.
Can I get a refund?
Please try every feature free for 7 days first. Once your licence is activated on a computer, all sales are final.
Who owns the videos I make?
You do, including for commercial use. Images, clips and voices from third-party providers still follow those providers' own terms, so check them before publishing at commercial scale.
