Install the app
Run the installer. On Windows, if SmartScreen appears, choose More info, then Run anyway. On a Mac, right-click the app and choose Open the first time.

Add your API keys
Open Settings and add keys for the AI providers you want to use. The built-in voice and stock need no key. Keys are encrypted in your system keychain.

Make your first video
Paste a script and turn on Auto mode. Your 7-day trial starts when you first open the app: up to 3 videos a day, no watermark.
Runs on the computer you already have
No special hardware and no GPU needed. Vid Optimus checks your computer and uses the fastest video encoder it finds, so exports stay quick on any machine.

Is Vid Optimus free to download?
Yes. The download is free and includes a 7-day trial with every feature: up to 3 videos a day, scripts up to 5,000 characters and no watermark. No account or card is needed.
Which Mac version should I download?
Pick Apple Silicon if your Mac has an M1, M2, M3 or newer chip. Pick Intel for older Intel-based Macs. You can check under Apple menu, then About This Mac.
Windows shows a SmartScreen warning. What do I do?
Windows can show this for a new release before it builds up a reputation. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
macOS says the app cannot be opened. What do I do?
The first time you open it, right-click the app and choose Open. After that, it opens normally.
What happens when the free trial ends?
The app locks until you activate a licence. There is no free plan after the trial.
Do I need an internet connection?
Yes. AI images, stock search, voiceover and transcription all use online providers, and your licence is checked online. The final video is rendered on your own computer.
