Your PC does the rendering, so exports stay fast
Most AI video tools render your video on their servers and make you wait in a queue. Vid Optimus renders the final MP4 on your own Windows PC, using the hardware you already paid for.
Graphics card names don't tell you much. A card can report as NVIDIA and still have no usable encoder. So Vid Optimus tests each encoder with a real encode using your export settings, then races the winner against your CPU and renders with whichever is faster. You never have to set anything up.

How to install Vid Optimus on Windows
Step by step, including what to do when Windows shows a security warning for a new app.
Install on Windows 10 or 11 About 2 minutes
- Download the installer. Get it from the download page. The file ends in _x64-setup.exe.
- If your browser holds the download, keep it. In Edge, open the Downloads panel, choose the three dots next to the file, then Keep, then Show more, then Keep anyway. In Chrome, choose Keep.
- Double-click the installer. If a blue "Windows protected your PC" box appears, choose More info, then Run anyway. This shows for new releases and is covered below.
- Follow the installer. It installs for your Windows account only, so you do not need an administrator password.
- Open Vid Optimus from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut. Your 7-day trial starts on first launch.
Unblock the installer with PowerShell If Run anyway does not appear
- Open PowerShell. Press the Windows key, type PowerShell and press Enter.

Paste this command and press Enter. It removes the "downloaded from the internet" mark from the installer in your Downloads folder.
Unblock-File -Path "$env:USERPROFILE\Downloads\Vid.Optimus_*_x64-setup.exe" - Run the installer again. It now opens without the SmartScreen warning.
Prefer not to use PowerShell? Right-click the installer, choose Properties, tick Unblock at the bottom of the General tab, then choose OK.
Fixes for common Windows problems
Most of these are one-time security prompts, and each takes a minute to fix.
"Windows protected your PC"
This is Microsoft SmartScreen. It warns about new releases until they have been downloaded enough times to build a reputation. It does not mean anything is wrong with the file. Choose More info, then Run anyway.
The browser says the file "isn't commonly downloaded"
Edge and Chrome say this about new installers. In Edge, open Downloads, choose the three dots next to the file, then Keep, Show more, Keep anyway. In Chrome, choose Keep.
My antivirus removed the installer
Some antivirus tools block new apps they have not seen before. Restore the file from your antivirus quarantine and allow it, or add an exception for the Vid Optimus folder, then run the installer again.
The installer asks to download WebView2
Vid Optimus uses Microsoft Edge WebView2, which Windows 11 already has. On some Windows 10 PCs the installer downloads it for you, so stay connected to the internet while it runs.
"This app has been blocked by your administrator"
Your PC is managed by a company or school that only allows approved apps. Ask your IT team to allow Vid Optimus, or install it on a personal PC.
Export is slower than I expected
Vid Optimus uses your fastest encoder and falls back to the CPU. Update your graphics driver, then open Settings, Video encoding, and choose Re-check to test your encoders again.
Updating and uninstalling
To update, download the new version and install it over the old one. Your projects and settings stay where they are.
Update
Download the new installer and run it. It replaces the old version and keeps your projects, settings and licence.
Uninstall
Open Settings, then Apps, then Installed apps. Find Vid Optimus, choose the three dots, then Uninstall. Your projects stay in your project library folder.

Does Vid Optimus work on Windows 10 and Windows 11?
